    Het Nederlands Oorlogsgraf W. v.d. Voort is te vinden op RK Kerkhof St. Lambertus aan de Slimstraat in Udenhout. Het graf is te vinden op veld D en is graf 179.

    Over het Nederlands Oorlogsgraf W. v.d. Voort.

    Willem van de Voort wordt geboren op 20 April in 1893. Van de Voort was bedrijfsleider bij de houtzagerij van de Firma Appels aan de Stationsstraat. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog verborg hij daar munitie voor de ondergrondse. Door loslippigheid of verraad is de Duitse bezetter daar achter gekomen. Hij werd, met Jan Appels en diens broer Adrianus, op 24 september 1944 gearresteerd en waarschijnlijk op diezelfde dag op het terrein van de Willem-II-kazerne in Tilburg gefusilleerd. Van de Voort overleed op een leeftijd van 51 Jaar. Hun lijken werden pas drie jaar later, op 25 september 1947, gevonden op een terrein bij de Willem-II-kazerne. Janus Appels was hoofd van de ondergrondse in Udenhout. Willem ligt begraven op het kerkhof van de Sint-Lambertuskerk. Zijn naam staat ook geschreven in de Mariakapel op de Schoorstraat.
