    Kunstwerk The sun also rise kan je vinden in de Broerestraat in de wijk Theresia in Tilburg en is gemaakt door Matthew Filipowski. Het werk heeft twee rechthoeken en een cirkelsegment die zo zijn geplaatst dat ze elkaar in een subtiel optisch evenwicht houden. Het is een balans van pure vormen, een harmonie die los staat van de wetten van de zwaartekracht. Het kunstwerk lijkt ook te zweven in de de ruimte doordat het kunstwerk met een punt op de sokkel steunt hierdoor ontstaan een ideaalbeeld van een zwevend object in de ruimte.

    Over Matthew Filipowski

    Matthew Filipowski is geboren in 1952 in Boston in de staat Massachusetts. De beeldhouwer verhuisde naar Nederland en was werkzaam in Tilburg. Hij liet zich inspireren door zijn omgeving en maakte voornamelijk abstracte metalen kunstwerken.
