    Het ‘Borstbeeld Burgemeester Brokx’ is gemaakt door Jos de Wit in 1997. Het bronzen kunstwerk bevindt zich in het Stadhuis in Tilburg.

    Over Burgemeester Brokx

    Burgemeester Gerardus Philippus Brokx is geboren op 22 juni 1933 in Oosterhout en overleed op 11 januari 2002 in Tilburg. Hij studeerde rechten aan de Rijksuniversiteit in Utrecht, en begon zijn carrière in de politiek in de gemeenteraad van Oosterhout in 1963. Hij was een Nederlandse KVP- en CDA-bestuurder en politicus. Hij was burgemeester van Tilburg van de periode 1988 tot 1997.

    Jos de Wit is geboren op 27 juli 1954. De kunstenaar maakt zowel beelden als schilderijen. In de kunstwerken zie je zijn persoonlijke kijk op de realiteit: die kan zowel liefdevol als rauw zijn. Zijn kunst laat zien dat realisme niet ophoudt bij wat het oog kan zien.
